My work is process led; I enjoy the alchemy of the varied printmaking processes. Latterly waterless lithography has dominated my practice. I make my pieces using multiple plates My inspiration comes from glimpses of the natural world around me. However this figurative starting point ultimately becomes more abstract in form, colour and texture to make it a visually exciting experience.

Cath has been creating handmade prints for over 20 years. She works across all printmaking disciplines but her current favourite way of working is colour reduction lino printing. Her work responds, often with humour, to the world around her and often reflects her wry observations about the way we choose to live.

I make colourful contemporary relief prints inspired by the sea, trees and nature.
Some include metal leaf and strong embossing giving a very interesting tactile quality to the finished print. My work is inspired by the Japanese aesthetic trying to capture the essence of things.

My illustrations are inspired by graphic design and mythical stories, translated through bold colour, simple forms, and hand-made texture. I create bodies of work that feels warm, narrative and slightly imperfect, often rooted in printmaking awith TetraPak and paper stencils.

I am a multidisciplinary artist, currently studying my BA in Fine Art at the university for the creative arts. My current focus is in printmaking and watercolour. I enjoy creating anything from timeless works for display to hand painted cards for loved ones.

I enjoy technical drawing as much as slapping colourful oils onto a canvas - my 'Prints of the places you love' collection (giclee prints/cards/coasters) blends the precision of architectural drawing and monochrome line work with the vibrancy of colour, breathing life into structured forms.

I work solely in linocut. My handcrafted prints often reduce subjects to essential shapes and colours, stylized with bold, graphic lines and dynamic composition, but always grounded in observation. I enjoy using the restrictions of the printing process to enhance rather than limit my creativity. My work typically depicts my fondness for British wildlife, gardens and countryside.

The constant theme in my work is 'the line'. The line creates a connection between my past and present and my working method has been developed out of necessity: very little time and family required a way of working with periods on and off. As the years have passed, I now spend time developing ideas still underpinned by the line.

There is a strong sense of pattern and order, as well as the importance of colour, in my hand pulled original prints. I often gain inspiration from fabric and wallpaper designs from the past. I make collagraphs, drypoints and monoprints, as well as screenprints, and I often combine these techniques to produce both figurative and non figurative work.

Inspired by nature and the human face, I have evolved two distinct styles over the years. A minimalist approach to Linoprinting and an intricate layering of textures for Collagraphs, whether in the original platemaking, the printing with chine collé, gold, silver and copper or in the hand gilding and colouring of the final prints.

I began printmaking when I retired from education and went on a course at Bucks College. I began to make etchings using the inspiration of the landscape, flowers and plants of the Yorkshire Dales where I grew up and then moved on to making collographs. I love the way that using different materials can add atmosphere to the print.

Formerly a professional photographer of 25 years I've always been interested in traditional crafts. After photographing many creatives I picked up a set of lino print tools and have never looked back. Inspired by my Cornish roots, our coast and the desire to make something with my hands, I am now back home in Cornwall creating Cornish inspired coastal prints.
