Meet The Artists
I started needle felting in 2017. I enjoy the total concentration needed to avoid stabbing your hands and as there is no pattern to follow. The creativity can unfold in surprising ways. The wool fibres are stabbed with one needle to shape and firm, and colours are added and layered on top. I generally prefer 3D work and to add character and humour to my pieces. There is nothing nicer than to see a little face come to life in front of you.
I make an array of animals and quirky creations using wool, and also create canvas designs using blendable alcohol pens.
The wool is unspun so it’s still in its fluffy form. When pierced multiple times with small needles with nicks in the blade the wool compacts. I like to think both my needlefelting and my artwork express my own personal love for whimsical, magical and the downright swirly! I adore colour and curves and make abstract pictures straight to the canvas.
