Meet The Artists
Danish geologist Marianne McCaughey created Harmattan Jewellery 14 years ago while living in Cairo, Egypt. She makes handmade jewellery with a "Story To Tell". Using gorgeous gemstones and precious metals as well as elements linking to antiquity she creates a link to nature and history in each beautiful handmade jewellery piece.
I'm a fused glass artist, specialising in bespoke glass such as kitchen and bathroom splashbacks, stunning wall art and garden art. I fell in love with glass as a medium 18 years ago and am still learning and experimenting and still as much in love. The way that glass can capture the light and have movement in itself while being rigid and strong while fragile, keeps me going. I love taking inspiration from nature and landscapes/seascapes.
Duncan Mackay wittily distills the essence of beautiful landscapes in beach foraged materials. Following the ancient Far Eastern, Buddhist, Tang Dynasty art form of ‘spirit stones’ he punks up a modern response with sea-spat plastics from a vengeful Anthropocene ocean melding the natural with the un-natural. His ‘sculptures for small spaces’ create a new narrative and are boxed, stamped, signed and scrolled for the discerning art investor. Shortlisted for an international art award the judges said “I love the concept of this piece and find the exploration of different materials being brought together to form a fragile whole fascinating”.
