Lu Willis

Lu initially studied fashion at HND level, then a degree in illustration at Chelsea College of Art. After working in illustration for several years she decided to concentrate on painting.
Her work has been exhibited at several well known London Galleries, including shows with The Singer Freidlander/Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour and The Society of Botanical Artists.
In 2008 she was runner-up in 'Artist of the Year' Competition in Artists and Illustrator magazine.
The paintings celebrate the sculptural form of these flowers and can take months to complete, with many layers of colour and detail adding depth and form.
