Heather McAteer

Originally from Belfast, Heather studied BA Fine Art at Belfast School of Art before relocating to Reading in 1992 to complete a Master of Fine Art degree at Reading School of Art. Working predominately in graphite, Heather creates delicate, evocative drawings and paintings inspired by the landscapes of her youth in Northern Ireland which explore themes of memory, history and identity. Heather’s work is widely exhibited, mostly recently at ’Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Drawing Prize Exhibition’ at the RBSA Gallery, Birmingham and the ‘Winter Group Show’ at Linden Hall Studio, Deal, and as part of a two-person show, ‘Uncertain Landscapes’, at Flowerfield Arts, Portstewart, Northern Ireland.
