Debbie is a handbuilding potter; her main influences are Korean and Japanese pottery with their strong simple shapes. She specialises in Moon jars - spherical vessels inspired by the iconic Korean Moon Jar and tall vessels, Pails, with found wooden handles, influenced by Japanese pottery. She explores the possibilities arising from the combination of glaze and smoke working together- using raku, standard kiln and smoke firing techniques.
