Amy Surman

From a young age I have loved working with tools and materials to create new objects. Exploring techniques and processes to achieve a desire finish is fun, exciting and unpredictable at times. My work reflects this journey. Within my collection you will see some traditional and more contemporary techniques such as casting, stone setting, free hand building and forming using precious metals, gemstones, scrap silver and enamel. My busy teaching time is a key part of this journey so I have my students to thank for their questions and projects in leading me down paths I may not have taken.
