Gary Dean Spencer

As a painter, I combine observations of nature and the manmade world with complete improvisations and fictions, invented symbols and ambiguous forms. I am curious to give new reflections to existing aspects of the world as well as pluck things from the back of my mind, asking visual questions about meanings and appearances. In trying to bring these differing sources and thoughts together, I give myself reasons to explore painting.
